¹¹ David had reigned over Israel for forty years. He reigned in Hebron for seven years, and he reigned in Jerusalem for thirty-three years.

¹² Solomon Affirms His Power. Then Solomon sat on the throne of David, his father, and his reign was firmly established.

¹³ Now Adonijah, the son of Haggith, came to Bathsheba, the mother of Solomon. She asked him, “Do you come in peace?” He answered, “In peace.”
